Our prices reflect the time and energy it takes for Organic growers to honor the earth without scarring and chemicals. Our prices also support Fair Trade employers who pay their workers a decent wage and do not allow them to be abused or their family to go hungry. In hard cash it amounts to pennies a cup, not a lot to ask to ensure a higher quality of life for some of the most impoverished and marginalized communities in existence.
Fair Trade Criteria include:

Providing equal employment opportunities for all people
Engaging in environmentally sustainable practices
Being open to public accountability
Building long-term trade relationships
Providing healthy and safe working conditions
Providing financial and technical assistance to producers whenever possible,
Ensuring that there is no abuse of child labor.

Organic tea is, to our tribe, the only way to preserve the fragile 5,000 year old tea fields and the bounty of our sweet Mother Earth. In the beginning, there were no chemicals used to maximize yield or escape nature’s challenges.
Now with organic certification the growing methods are back to their traditional, ancient methods. And like art, the plants are cultivated with grace and purity.
